...from Otakon. It was a relatively chill year. I didn't stay in cosplay for a long time because it was so bloody hot, and I was layered in black with an extremely long annoying wig and hat to boot. It was cool inside the BCC, but my jacket thing underneath my coat was too small and frequently cut off the circulation to my arms. >.< But I did get some pics and hugs, so it was neat :>

FRIDAY
"Slept" over at friend's house (I had about 30 mins worth), woke up at designated time of 5:10, was told that it was too early, watched as everyone went back to sleep, and sat there for an hour staring at the clock. When 6:10 rolled around, the ladies got up, annoyed the men into getting up, packed the Van, then headed out. The drive down wasn't particularly exciting except for the one driver who managed to severely piss James off to the point where he made a "fuck u" sign and held it up to the window for the jerk to see. After that, smooth riding into Baltimore and to the hotel. We were able to get into our room right away, thank god, and we settled in while the boys parked the car. There were a few costume failures (not my fault this time, haha!), but we eventually met up with my mom and sister on the way to the center. After walking around the block past a SHITload of people, we were verily informed that we were in the wrong line and had to walk all the way back around. Stood inside the BCC for about 10 minutes waiting to get our badges, meanwhile I met up with a Grell in line and we chatted for a bit, which was neat. After getting our shit, we walked around for a bit while me and Lauren had a bit of a competition regarding who was getting the most pics. I think I won, but we split up halfway through so it will remain a mystery XD.

Now, I said that I was determined to buy shit this year, so that's exactly what I did. Friday I bought two things: =exileddelusion's "Law of Talos: Rellik" book (she's so nice in person!) and the second volume of "Vassalord", which if you haven't looked into it yet, you better get on it. It's...technically NOT yaoi, but pretty fuckin close, haha. I wish I could have found vol. 1, but everywhere was sold out. I was surprised to find it at all! But yes, I'm gonna be ordering the rest of them online, so yayyy!

Friday night consisted of me and ~bite-insane-iam coming back to the hotel to find Shawn and Lauren passed out on the one bed and James in the shower. There was a Pokemon movie on TV, so we watched that for a while until we all decided to go back to the con. James, Shawn and Lauren were going to go to the rave, so Mo and I came back to the hotel around 8 and passed out...until the trio came back at God knows when and woke me up, talked for a bit, decided to go to bed, turned off the lights, turned on the TV (GOD DAMMIT WHY), and crash. I did not sleep well and wound up elbowing Mo in the face D: SORRYYYY

SATURDAY
Everyone's alarms went off in 5 minute intervals, which eventually, after the 3rd one went off, we all decided to get up. Mo wanted to go to the Crispin Freeman autograph session, the trio wanted to do their own thing, so I decided to hang out with my sister ~AnimeDarkside and ~BlackMageStudent for a bit. With them dressed as Rorchach and Black Spy, they got a SHITload of attention, which was great and made me laugh. I spent most of the day in the dealers room where I decided to buy the complete DVD collection of Samurai 7 and Samurai Champloo, both of which I never saw an episode of but heard about and thought, "why not, since I can't find anything else I want". I also bought a poster from artist alley of Shadow of the Colossus. XD I told myself I wouldn't, but eh. After that I met up with Beck n Kelly, I decided I couldn't stand the heat anymore and tore off most of my cosplay. I returned to the hotel, but called ahead and asked my mom if I could use her hotel room shower because the pigs people I shared a hotel room with used up all the towels. I chilled with my mom for a bit and told her about all the shit that's been going on, then decided to go back to the con with her for a bit. After last night's shenanigans regarding late night TV, I decided, with Mo's permission, that I would stay the night in my mom and sis' hotel room and go home with them in the morning since it would make more sense. Wise decision, as Mo told me the next day that she did not get much sleep >.<. But yes, we spent some time watching House in the hotel room and waving at people from their windows in their hotel room. We made friends! XD

SUNDAY
Woke up at 8, threw on some clothes, ate some grub, then proceeded to raid the hell out of the dealer's room one last time. We had to wait in line for a bit, which was all right because the people behind us kept singing songs like "Bingo" and "Barbie Girl" and the Pokemon theme song to pass the time XD. I bought my friend something, the DVD set of Trinity Blood (again, no real knowlege of it, but it was either that or Gungrave, which reminded me too much of Helsing), and a Gankutsuou messenger bag that I had been eying since Friday. I came to the con with almost $300 and returned home with 30-some bucks. XD Not too bad! The ride home was uneventful, save for some drama that I just managed to miss with the trio and Mo. :/


SO! In the end, it was a very good weekend. Now I'm home being encourage by my sister to get a table next year at Artist Alley, and watching Samurai 7. Which is...all right. Some of the episodes are slow and the soundtrack SUCKS...but it's all right. I recommend it if you like giant robots, cyborgs and samurais. I already know the ending and am preparing to cry ;_;

Indeed, tonight I will be off to a friend's house, and then on the road to Baltimore. Hopefully I'll have pics n videos to put up afterwards, but no promises. D: I'm just hoping there's no drama.
